The next 5 years after that they fail due to lack of leadership, poor management, lack of strategy, ineffective marketing, poor customer service, and, again, lack of cash flow. After that, they fail due to lack of strategy, lost focus, lack of leadership, poor customer service, and competition that outperforms them.
There have been numerous studies online that show working with a business coach early in the business life cycle dramatically increases the odds of success for the business. Business owners that work with a coach have greater clarity and focus, have fewer headaches, experience greater profits, and achieve their goals faster than they could on their own.
Why does this happen? Many people are great technicians (doers), but they do not have the knowledge and skill necessary to grow and maintain a business.
